Drippy Nails Tutorial

Drip nails are awesome because they're so darn versatile. You can do a simple black drip to cover up tip wear or go crazy and create a crazy galaxy drip manicure. They work with rainbow colors, outlines, or they're perfect for doing ice cream cone nails. Just do a brown criss cross base (for your cone) and do some cutie drips on top. Perfect!
In this tutorial I used Sinful Colors in 24/7 (the best hot pink ever!), Gosh in Holographic Hero, Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in White On, Konad Special Polish in Black, Seche Vite Top Coat, and OPI Nail Envy base coat.

tips & tricks

  • To make this tutorial easier if you're a beginner, just stop after the fourth step and forget the outline. They still look amazing!
  • I used a neon polish for this tutorial and it was such a pain to work with. Avoid using colors that dry quickly (and really lumpy) unless you're willing to fight back!
  • When you're doing your black outline, try to keep it as thin as possible. If you accidently make it too thick in one part, wait for it to dry and cover it up with some base color.
  • I use a large, stud earring to make really big dots. It works perfectly!
Still have some questions? Send me an email and I'll talk you through any problems you're having. Don't forget to email me a photo of your drippy nails so I can see your beautiful work!
